Family Camp

Built on the Rock: A Weekend at Family Camp
There is something special about stepping away from the busyness of everyday life. Between school schedules, sports, work, and the constant demands of family life, it can be difficult to slow down long enough to simply enjoy being together. That was the heart behind our Snyder Kids Family Camp.
Families gathered at Camp Don Lee for a weekend designed to create space for connection—with one another and with the Lord. We wanted parents and kids to step away from their normal routines, make memories, worship together, and connect with their church family.
Throughout the weekend, we played, laughed, explored, and worshiped outside, surrounded by God’s creation. We experienced beautiful sunshine and rainy moments, and both brought opportunities for fun, laughter, and blessings. And wouldn’t you know it? The changing weather was a perfect illustration of our theme for the weekend!
In Matthew 7:24–27, Jesus tells the story of two builders. One built his house on the rock, and the other built his house on the sand. When the storms came, only the house built on the rock remained standing. We talked about what it means to build our lives and families on the firm foundation of Jesus—not just when life gets difficult, but in the everyday moments that come before the storms.
The foundation matters in every season, whether the sun is shining or the storms are rolling in.
But the vision behind Family Camp goes far beyond one weekend. At Snyder Kids, we believe that parents are the primary spiritual influencers in the lives of their children. Our role as a church is to come alongside families, encouraging and equipping them to make faith part of everyday life. Family discipleship doesn’t have to be complicated. It happens in conversations around the dinner table, prayers before bedtime, questions asked in the car, and the small, intentional moments when parents point their children toward Jesus.
We are grateful for every family who joined us and pray that the memories and conversations from this weekend continue long after camp.
Missed out on Family Camp? Don’t worry—we’ve got something else up our sleeves! Stay tuned for another opportunity to make some unforgettable family memories!
