More from Red Springs!

From Caroline Spicer:  This week I’ve been at nursing homes and we sang and got to talk to the residents. Singing with them was amazing even though.  Some of them could barely talk, they were singing their heart out. Watching them made me cry and care for them. I now have so much more compasion for elderly people.

Extreme Makeover!

I didnt get any great pics today..working to hard.  But it was an awesome day of cleaning out a storage building, pulling weeds, picking up trash, pulling ivy off the walls, feeding ducks, cleaning kitchens, and more.  At the end of the day we did a mini extreme storage building makeover where we yelled move that bus and the whole nine yards. It was exciting to see the directors face at the Hamlet Senior Center as the bus moved away.  She was grateful for the time we spent reorganizing a full storage building!  I am thankful for the way God places us in just the right spots at the right time and how he uses our gifts to compliment one another.  Not to mention that He will use you no matter how old or how young as long as you are ready and willing.  Just wanted to share my thoughts since I forgot to take pictures:)  Laurie Morrison

Hi, its cherish and craig just asked me to tell you about my experience with red springs. My experience at red springs was eye opening. I admit I started out nervous because it was a small group of us and I thought I wouldn’t enjoy it but it turns out that it has been a week a really needed spiritually. it has brought me to my knees and helped me realize that there is such a big need out there and I need to grasp every oppertunity to help. Red springs has been life changing and whether two people or the entire youth group came, I wouldn’t trade it for the world.     Cherish King

Snyder Youth Team Leaves for Deep Impact Mission Camp in Red Springs, NC

The team is made of eleven youth and three adults and left Monday morning for Red Springs, NC for a week of Deep Impact Mission Camp sponsored by Baptist Men of North Carolina.  Our students are partnering with other youth from around the state to make a difference in the lives of people locally.  During the week the team will be working with children in a variety of settings, doing sports and recreation ministry, construction, painting and landscaping, and Senior Adult ministry.  The group will also use random acts of kinds to share the gospel with people in the community.  They will join together for worship each night led by our own Giles Blankenship and Craig Morrison.  Their theme for the week is “Going Deep! and the theme scripture for the week is “Becoming all things to all people.”  1 Corinthians 9:22.  Be sure and pray for the team this week as they reach out to our community,  especially since they will be out working in the hot weather.  Our youth will return on Saturday, July 30.
